This research shows the importance of checking the symbolism of color, what each color represents, its influence in generating a positive or negative reaction in children, the way in which it can represent joy, passion, among other emotions. This verification is achieved through a coloring book and visual perception in children. Based on Goethe's Color Theory, which gives a subjective meaning to colors and relates them to the human mind, giving them a personality and associating them to human behavior through their proposal of the six-color diagram, the authors demonstrate the importance of the use of color in graphic pieces for the development of children's visual perception and how this contributes to a better understanding of their emotions. The images and colour we are exposed to every day have a significance marked by the perception, maturity, cognitive process, society and culture of individuals.
