Sisters Virginia Baker and Barbara Sanders, better known as Ginger and Bobbie to friends and family, were born and raised in Tennessee. Virginia worked for twenty years in the paint manufacturing industry, a job that included color development and tinting, where she developed a keen eye for color. She was also a member of the North Jefferson (Alabama) Quilt Guild, where she was a part of the teaching team that introduced many newcomers to the world of quilting. Barbara is a happily retired bank vice president. The two founded Wool Sisters, a group for rug hooking, in 2000. Today the group has two informal retreats a year and one camp with a nationally known teacher. Virginia also teaches beginning primitive rug hooking in her home studio and teaches at John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC. |
