When Ann Sorenson goes into labor early, she races to her doctor's office to make sure that he is the one who delivers her baby. The shock of Ann's dramatic entry into the clinic is overshadowed by the appearance of her baby boy, who is black. Ann and her husband, Steven, who conceived via in vitro fertilization, are white.
