The explorer and scientist Fridtjof Nansen (1861-1930) encouraged and supported the 1901 Arctic voyage of his fellow Norwegian Roald Amundsen (1872-1928), publishing this account of its oceanographic findings in 1906. The detailed observations made on the voyage are accompanied by diagrams and maps.
Nansen's 1906 work supplies technical details, diagrams and maps based on Roald Amundsen's oceanographic data from the Arctic seas.
